After school in the afternoon...

Leslie talked to her mom on phone,"Hey Mom, I'm sorry I will arrive home late. I had a difficult homework so I'm going to do it with Brigitte.". Her mom seemed allowing her. After she said 'bye' to her mother, Brigitte said to Leslie (raising her index finger),"Aha! You lied to your mom!". Leslie replied,"Hello, that's the only way to make her allow me to come to other's houses. Moreover, we need to write the song, right?". Brigitte answered proudly,"Okay, okay, you are the best bestie I've ever had!". She and Leslie embraced each other and went to the school bus.


Leslie told Jonah, the bus driver, that she was going to get off at Brigitte's house. Unfortunately, Jonah was lack of trust. So upset, Leslie called her mom on phone again and let her talk to Jonah. After that, Jonah understood and allow Leslie to get off the bus when they arrived at Brigtte's house.

At Brigitte's house...

Brigitte and Leslie walked inside. Brigitte addressed her mother,"Mom, I'm home!". Leslie politely greeted Brigitte's mother when they came face to face,"Good afternoon, Mrs. Brown!". Brigitte's mom answered happily,"Oh hello Leslie, it's nice to see you!". Leslie replied,"Nice to see you too, Madam!". Brigitte and Leslie walked to Brigitte's room. Vega the shih tzu dog ran cheerfully and licked their feets. Simon was playing an airplane toy through the rooms, he accidentally hit Leslie. With fear, he ran away to his mom. Brigitte and Leslie giggled, saying that Simon might still have trauma since Leslie liked to pinch his cute cheeks.

In Brigitte's bedroom...

Leslie asked,"So, what kind of song would you like to sing?". Brigitte slowly answered,"Hmmm... I have no idea. I already have some songs that I've written before but all of the lyrics seem a bit childish.".
"I see. Well, you had a crush on a guy at school, right?".
"No, not at all! Who said that?".
"Oh, come on. Everyone knows that you are interested with Edward. The way you look at him, talk to him, and many more.".
"Please Leslie, I'm just a girl who has never been seen. While people in the school got their eyes on him. I am so not his type! I....".
Before Brigitte finished talking, Leslie stopped her by putting her finger on Brigitte's lips,"Sssstttt! Remove the unconfidence and inferior feelings from yourself! My question is, you like him, don't you?".
Brigitte took a deep breath and said,"To be honest, I like him since 2 months ago. But I feel like he doesn't realize it.".
Leslie said that it could be a good idea to write the song, which meant to express her best friend's feeling to Simon. Brigitte agreed.

From day to day, they worked on the song. Leslie made the lyrics, while the music was composed by Brigitte. Brigitte practiced singing the song everyday. Her mother, father, and Simon laughed everytime she sang the song while she was taking a bath. When the song was ready, she recorded it as a demo and sent it to the competition's committee.

The day of the celebration...

Brigitte was overly nervous. Like usual, her body felt cold and like want to defecate. Leslie cheered her up, giving her a cup of warm green tea. Shortly afterwards, Brigitte came out. She thanked her best friend who always encouraged her. They went to the school's court. The celebration was about to start. After greetings for a few minutes, the MCs said loudly,"We welcome, Pink.BLONDIE...!. A blonde-haired 18 years old girl came out right to the stage along with her band. She was Gianna Levine, the lead vocalist of Pink.BLONDIE. Then she greeted loudly,"Good Morning Westlake High School!". The audiences enthusiasticly shouted,"Whoo-hoo!".
"Oh come on, where are your voices, people? Westlake High School!"
"Whoooooo-hoooooooooo!"
"That's awesome! It's totally a pleasure to see everyone of you here! Are you ready to rock?"
"Yeah!"
"Are you really really really ready to rock?"
"Yeeaahhhhh!!!"
"Let's hit it!", said her to the band.

The music started playing. Gianna sang with a full appreciation in the song.

A few times later...

The singing competition was starting to be held. All of the participants were ready behind the stage, some of them are nervous, but there were also who were overly confident. Brigitte was still nervous a little bit, but she can stand it. She was the sixth participant to perform. Leslie stood in the front row, getting closer to the stage. After five participants had performed their songs, the MCs said,"Okay, we already watched 5 performances. Don't you think all of them were awesome? Now let's see who is going to perform and I'm sure this one won't be less awesome! Here she is, Brigitte Brown!". The students screamed happily, but there were also some whispering sounds,"Brigitte? Are you sure? Can she sing? I haven't even heard her singing voice?". Leslie prepared her camera to record Brigitte's performance. She secretly planned to upload it to YouTube. Brigitte came to the stage, taking an electric guitar. She played the intro of the song and started to sing.


People were so surprised when they heard Brigitte's voice. It was a wonderful voice that they had not heard before. Handclapping sounds were heard and Leslie screamed aloud when she finished singing. Brigitte's classmates shouted,"We want more! We want more! We want more!".

A few hours later...

In the end of the celebration event, the MCs were about to inform who became the winner of the singing competition. Every participant anxiously hoped to be the winner, all of the audiences were quiet. Drumroll sound was playing, and when it stopped, the MCs announced,"Congratulations! Brigitte Brown!". The whole court was suddenly filled with noise. Brigitte cried of happiness, her dream finally came true. Her friends, especially Leslie, were dissolved in pleasure due to her win. Five guys, including Edward, lifted Brigitte up and bring her to the stage. She received the trophy from Gianna Levine and got a chance to record a song with her. As a matter of fact, there was a student who didn't feel happy with that. Aurelie, the spoiled, mean, and arrogant girl, who also had a crush on Edward, was disqualified by the committee. She and her friends in the girl group were caught doing lip sync. She started planning to bring Brigitte down.

Alarm clock ringing...

A 17 years old brown-haired girl woke up and pushed the clock's button, continued with her mom calling her,"Brigitte, come on! You gotta go to school! I've made a breakfast for you".

She replied,"Yes mom, I'll be there right away!".

Brigitte came out from her bedroom, she brushed teeth and took a bath. Then, she dressed up in her school uniform. She went to the dining room, startling her little brother from behind and greeting her father. She sat together with them.

Their father said,"Morning Honey!"

She replied,"Dad, can we have some family recreation on Saturday? I miss having family time together".

Her little brother said,"Yes Daddy, me too!".

Their father took a breath, and replied in lazy tone,"Huuhhh... I'm really sorry sweethearts. It seems like I still have works to do in Saturday. I think you both can go out together, I'll give you some money!".

Their mom advised them,"Brigitte, Simon, your father is having a huge project to do in his office. He is really needed by the company to help them finish it I hope both of you could understand!".

Brigitte & Simon replied,"Yes mom!".

Their mom answered,"Good!".

Suddenly, there was a sound of bus horn sounding in front of Brigitte's house. It was the school bus which was going to pick Brigitte up. Brigitte kissed her dad, her mom, and Simon. Didn't miss to stroke, her lovely dog, Vega. Then she took her backpack and went to the bus.

She got into the bus, feeling uncomfortable with some naughty guys. But she still can stand it since it was just usual thing students in her school faced. Then, she walked to the back, sitting beside her kind and helpful friend, Leslie. She told Leslie about a new song of her favorite rock band, Pink.BLONDIE. They listened to the song from Brigitte's iPod.

They arrived at school, getting into the class. The teacher told them,"Students, before we start our lesson, I just want to tell you that next week we are going to celebrate our school's 50th anniversary. The school's foundation really need your participation in this event. We organize some competitions. I recommend those of you who have talent and interest in music could join the singing competition. The first winner would get a chance to record a song with Gianna Levine, the lead vocalist of Pink.BLONDIE!".

The whole class was suddenly filled with noise.

"Brigitte, I think your dream is going to be true!" said Leslie to her best friend.

The teacher knocked the whiteboard with a board ruler until the whole class fell silent. Then she rebuked them,"Alright class, remember this is a classroom, not a football crowd! Now let's start our lesson!".

One and a half hour later...

Brigitte was taking out some books from her locker, Leslie was beside her, supporting her to join in the singing competition,"Oh Brigitte, come on, you have such a beautiful voice! You should let the whole world know your talent and make them stop thinking that you're an ordinary girl!".

Brigitte replied,"Leslie, I appreciate your support. But you can see that I'm not really confident to stand in front many people. I'd be freaked to face the audiences!".

Leslie always supported Brigitte, until Brigitte changed her mind and decided to join. She even helped Brigitte to make a song lyrics.

Pada tahun 2006, Ia mengisi suara nyanyian Barbie dalam film The Barbie Diaries dengan lagu tema, "This is Me", yang membuatnya cukup terkenal. Ya, dia adalah Skye Sweetnam. Gadis kelahiran 5 Mei 1988 di Bolton - Ontario, Kanada.
